Bishop John Keehner will celebrate a Red Mass to pray for judges, lawyers, lawmakers and all who work in judicial, legal and governmental systems. A reception will follow.

Young men in high school through college who are interested in learning more about the priesthood are invited to attend Thinking of Priesthood Day. The gathering will be held on Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Ames. Sponsored by the Office of Vocations for the Diocese of Sioux City, this is an informal discernment day and is a great way to spend time with peers who are also thinking about their vocation.

In honor of the veterans, Catholic Daughters of the Americas in Milford is hosting its 14th annual Free Veterans Soup Supper on Nov. 7. Doors open and social time begins at 5 p.m. with soup supper, program and drawings at 5:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish Center in Milford.

The 7th annual Siouxland Inspirational and Historical Short Film Festival will be held Sunday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center in Sioux City. The family- friendly filmfest will again be hosted by the Siouxland Filmmakers Club and is produced by Mater Dei Parish photographer Tom Schoening. A variety of local, regional and National family - friendly and clean - language short films will be shown.
