The Light is ON event encourages confessions

The Light is ON for You confessions will be held March 3 in parishes throughout the Diocese of Sioux City. Father Andrew Galles explained that this special block of confession time is intended primarily for those who needed to be invited back to the sacrament.

Those who have been away from the sacrament are encouraged to participate in the March 3 confessions so they might have an opportunity to be re-introduced to the mercy of God and the practice of the faith.

The priest explained that The Light is ON for You is to encourage parishioners to take advantage of the sacrament of reconciliation and to increase the availability of confessions in the diocese.

Most parishes will offer confessions between 5 and 7 p.m. The faithful should check the parish’s calendar for the exact times The Light is ON for You will be held.

Act of Contrition
God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell; but most of all because they offend you my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love.
