Sacred Heart Parish adds statues to sanctuary

Sioux City Sacred Heart Church was dedicated on Aug. 18, 1991. Since then it has been the desire of the parishioners to enhance the sanctuary with some statues. On April 2, 2025, the dreams were realized almost 35 years later and two beautiful statues were ordered - one of our Blessed Mother holding an infant Jesus and the other one of St. Joseph. 

The statues are 6 feet tall and hand carved out of linden wood by the Demetz Art Studio in Italy. They arrived on Sept. 19, 2025 and were blessed on Oct. 5 at the 8 a.m. Mass by Father Tim Friedrichsen, pastor.
