Remsen St. Mary's School held a Las Posadas for the students recently.
Las Posadas derives from the Spanish word posada (lodging or accommodation) which refers to the inn from the Nativity Story. This religious festival is celebrated in Mexico and some parts of the United States.
Joseph and Mary are on their journey looking for a place to stay before their baby Jesus is born. The second graders go classroom to classroom looking for room for Mary and Joseph.
