Several diocesan parishes are commemorating the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Diocese of Sioux City and patroness of the Americas. The feast day is Dec. 12.
Denison St. Rose of Lima Parish, St. Ann Church in Vail Dec. 12 – Praises will begin at 5 p.m. with the rosary at 5:30 p.m. and Mass at 6 p.m. followed by a fiesta to celebrate the Virgin of Guadalupe. These activities will be held at St. Ann Church in Vail.
Estherville St. Patrick Parish Dec. 12 - The daily Mass for that Friday will be celebrated at 6 p.m. in Spanish.
Le Mars All Saints Parish Dec. 12 – Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. at St. James Church with a fiesta to follow at 8 p.m. in the church basement.
Sheldon St. Patrick Parish Dec. 7 – A celebration will be held following the Spanish Mass.
Sioux Center Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish This parish will offer Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrations at its three locations.
Sioux Center Christ the King Church: Dec. 12 - Mañanitas and mariachi music will be held at 5 a.m. with Mass at 6 a.m. and breakfast in the parish hall at 7 a.m.
Rock Valley St. Mary Church: Dec. 12 - There will be a rosary at 3 p.m. at the church on Dec. 12 with Santa Maria Dancers at 4 p.m., las mañanitas and mariachi at 5 p.m., Mass at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. meal in church hall.
Hawarden St. Mary Church: Dec. 14 - There will be las mañanitas and mariachi music at 8 a.m. with bilingual Mass at 8:30 a.m. followed by a meal in the parish hall. Sioux Center Our Lady of Guadalupe 2024Sioux City Cathedral Parish Dec. 12 – 12 p.m. English Mass; 5:30 p.m. Spanish Mass with Bishop Keehner. Fiesta to follow in the Epiphany Center from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Sioux City Mater Dei Parish Dec. 12 - The evening festivities to be held at Immaculate Conception Church will begin with a serenade and mariachi at 6 p.m. with a bilingual Mass at 7 p.m. and fiesta with authentic Mexican food, dancers and mariachi starting at 8 p.m.
Storm Lake St. Mary Parish Dec. 12 – At 12 a.m. (midnight) the rosary and mañanitas will be held. Mass will be offered to commemorate the Virgin of Guadalupe at 5:30 p.m. with a celebration continuing at 6:30 p.m.
