The Onawa-Blencoe Knights of Columbus Christmas Toy Drive has started with the desire to make a merrier Christmas for area children and their families.
New toys, food items and clothing can be donated in Onawa at Bomgaars, Dollar General, Lewis Pharmacy, Sunshine Foods and St. John Catholic church; also, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix. There are large boxes at each of these locations for the gifts.
West Central Outreach in Onawa is the recipient of the generous donations. Amy Johnston, director, and her staff of volunteers will sort everything by age and gender for the folks who are most in need in Monona County.
The final pickup is Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. with the Knights delivering all items to the Hope Evangelical Free Church Youth Services building in Onawa for WCO sorting.
The Knights of Columbus Council #6249 helps keep Christ in Christmas by conducting the Monona County Toy Drive every year to supplement the charitable efforts of West Central Outreach. Caring folks can help by adopting a family or donating to the Toy Drive. For more information, contact WCO at (712) 423-2603.
