April 13, 2026The Most Reverend John E. Keehner, Bishop of the Diocese of Sioux City, hereby announces the following appointments:
Effective April 14, 2026
Reverend Brian H. Feller, pastor of St. Patrick Parish in Estherville, Holy Family Parish in Emmetsburg and Immaculate Conception Parish in Graettinger, is assigned to a leave of absence.
Effective May 1, 2026
Father Steven J. McLoud is granted retirement status.
Effective July 7, 2026
Reverend Ross P. Caniglia, administrator of Our Lady of the Plains Parish in Lake City and Calhoun County, is assigned to pastor of the same.
Reverend Michael J. Cronin, pastor of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Denison and Crawford County, and Manning, is assigned to Canon Law studies at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome.
Reverend Shane A. Deman, vice-rector for formation at Kenrick Seminary in Missouri, is, while continuing to serve as diocesan Director of Seminarians, is assigned administrator of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Denison and Crawford County, and Manning, and director of Clergy Continuing Education.
Reverend Mister Thomas Kollasch, following his ordination to the presbyterate, is assigned to undertake graduate studies toward a Licentiate in Sacred Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome.
Very Reverend Monsignor Kevin C. McCoy, V.G., is reassigned pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge and Webster County, and St. Mary Parish in Humboldt.
Reverend Francis Makwinja, parochial vicar for Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Dodge and Webster County, and St. Mary Parish in Humboldt, is assigned pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Jefferson and Greene County.
Reverend William A. Schreiber, pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Jefferson and Greene County, is granted retirement status.
