June 29, 2026The Knights of Columbus of Monona County will again be serving great food at the Monona County Fair, which runs from July 7 to 12. They need some extra help this year due to a damage last winter.
Because of the very hard work by the Fair Board and many volunteers—plus coping with considerable stress—the grandstand has been rebuilt following the devastating fire on Jan. 28, 2026.
The Knights lost everything: freezers, refrigerators, grills, can cooler, utensils, product and over 40 years of history and booth improvements. This charitable organization that gives so much to so many others is now on the receiving end of charitable donations of equipment and money by compassionate donors that allows for a “functional” food booth this year. After this event the Knights will fully reconstruct their space.
The K of C food booth is not the same and there will be some ‘growing pains’ this first season in the new surroundings. But the Knights will do their best to serve the patrons with the efficiency and smiles they’ve become accustomed to and ask only for their patience and understanding. Come and see the beautiful, brand-spanking new grandstand and improvements! Truly, the Phoenix has risen from the ashes!
The K of C food booth will be operating and open for business at lunch time Tuesday through Sunday of the Fair and throughout the evening events. Knights will be serving their famous loose meats; grilled juicy 1/3 pound burgers; quarter pound hotdogs; brats, polish sausages and nachos—plus lemonade, tea, water and choice of soda.
