Bishop John E. Keehner announced today that Patty Lansink, superintendent of Catholic schools for the Diocese of Sioux City, has resigned her position effective Feb. 27. She has accepted a regional vice president position with FACTS Education Solutions out of Lincoln, Nebraska.
“It is with much sadness that we announce the imminent departure of Patty as our superintendent,” Bishop Keehner said. “She has been a true champion of Catholic education both as building principal and superintendent through the years. We will miss her professionalism, empathy and deep faith. We wish her the best and our prayers are with her.”
Lansink served as principal of Denison St. Rose of Lima School beginning in 2011. She was hired in 2014 as part-time assistant superintendent of the diocese, then served as interim superintendent before accepting the superintendent’s position in 2018.
She is an Ida Grove native and has a bachelor’s degree in zoology from Iowa State University, a master’s in education from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake and an Education Specialist degree from Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. Lansink has numerous years of experience as teacher, coach, counselor in addition to her administrative roles.
“I am grateful for the years spent serving the Catholic schools in the diocese and the friendships made during my time with the Catholic Schools Office. I will miss the regular interaction with the Catholic Schools Office staff, administrators, teachers and the chancery staff as I move on to the next chapter. Their hard work and dedication to Catholic schools is such an inspiration,” Lansink said.
The Diocese of Sioux City will launch a superintendent search in the coming weeks to replace Lansink.
