Sixty-eight golfers from seven diocesan high schools participated in the annual CYO golf tournament at Fort Dodge last week. Kuemper Catholic won the team championships in both the boys and girls meets.
The Kuemper boys shot a team score of 305, while Gehlen Catholic took team runner-up honors with a 310. Bishop Garrigan carded a 342, followed by St. Edmond with a 347 and Remsen St. Mary with a 368. Jake Lenz of Kuemper was the meet medalist with a 74, and teammate Brenton Loeffelholz recorded a 76. Five golfers shot a 77 to tie for third.
In the girls meet, Kuemper had a team score of 361. Bishop Garrigan earned team runner-up honors with a 369. Bishop Heelan finished third, followed by Remsen St. Mary, Gehlen Catholic and St. Edmond. Addy Beiter of Kuemper was meet medalist with an 81. Gabby Buscher of Garrigan was runner-up with an 83, while Giada Lujano of Kuemper placed third with an 84.
