KCs provide Coats for Kids

More Sioux City area children will have warm winter coats for the holidays, thanks to the Sioux City Knights of Columbus. KC councils from the area purchased winter coats and held a combined giveaway during the Coats for Kids event on Nov. 29 at Blessed Sacrament School in Sioux City
. 
The Black Friday special giveaway was made even bigger thanks to the Knights Iowa State organization, which matched the number of coats purchased by the local councils, for a total of 672 winter jackets. The remainder of the jackets will be handed out to deserving students at local schools in the near future.
The KC State Program Director Mike Tigges attended the event and was interviewed by radio and television stations about the Knights of Columbus charity work. Several daughters of Knights helped with sizing the coats to fit each child during the giveaway.
