Incardination decree

Having considered the petition of Reverend Francis S. Makwinja, a priest of the Diocese of Dedza, requesting incardination into the Diocese of Sioux City; and 

Having received the excardination decree of Most Reverend Peter A. Chifukwa, Bishop of Dedza, in which Reverend Francis S. Makwinja has been legitimately excardinated from the Diocese of Dedza, in lieu of incardination into the Diocese of Sioux City; and 

Having considered that Reverend Makwinja, will be useful for the ministry of 
the Diocese of Sioux City for the good of the Church and the good of the souls, 

I, the undersigned Ordinary, by means of this Decree, hereby incardinate the Reverend Francis S. Makwinja as a Priest of the Diocese of Sioux City, in accord with the norms of canons 265, 267, and 269 of the Code of Canon Law. 

The new title of service to the Diocese of Sioux City is hereby conferred on Reverend Francis S. Makwinja. 

This Decree of Incardination is effective as of January 15, 2026.
