The St. John Paul II Parish Adoration Chapel in Carroll is hosting a prayer vigil for the cardinal electors. Pastor Father Pat Behm suggested that all pray for the election and the electors so they will be inspired by the Holy Spirit when casting their vote.
Father Behm is asking everyone who enters the Adoration Chapel, from now until the new pope is elected, to pray for each cardinal who is eligible to vote in the conclave. Each cardinal to be prayed for will be assigned to a specific hour at the Adoration Chapel. The list and assigned hours is located in the sign in book for the chapel.
The Adoration Chapel, located in Holy Spirit Church is open seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The only time the Eucharist is reposed is from Saturday at 3 p.m. until Sunday at noon.
Father Behm anticipates covering all 135 electors with prayer each week until the conclusion of the conclave. Currently all adoration hours are covered with many hours having two or three adorers present. The daytime hours often find five to six people in the chapel at any given time.
Any person wishing to adore Jesus in the Eucharist is invited and encouraged to stop in at any time.
